The way marketers use email marketing is about to change forever. Emails have always been static. You send fixed content to your subscribers, and they read it or click on it to access a webpage or landing page.
But on March 26, 2019, Google's product manager, Aakash Sahney, announced the AMP format for email. AMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages. It allows email marketers to easily create interactive and non-static emails.
AWeber is the first small business messaging service provider to support the new AMP for messaging technology. "Interactive email offers marketers the potential to engage and connect with their subscribers like never before," said Dave Stys, Aweber Technical Product Manager. And a recent study by Kapost found that interactive content generates 2x more conversions than static content.

What are interactive e-mails?
Interactive e-mails are messages that your subscribers can click to edit or modify the content of the e-mail itself, even after the message is delivered to the inbox. The content can also be updated each time the email is opened. Interactive emails act like a web page.
Interactive content allows you to send more attractive e-mails. You can include additional content in your emails without overloading your subscribers, and your subscribers can interact with the email to get additional information if they need it. "This will give email subscribers the ability to engage in content without ever leaving their inbox," says Chris Vasquez, Creative Director at AWeber.

5 examples of interactive content
With a carousel, your subscribers can click to browse through the different images, products or blog posts of your emails. If you have multiple pieces of content to display in your email, you can use a carousel to save space and improve the design of your message.
When a subscriber clicks on an accordion, part of the email expands to display more content. You can use accordions to give subscribers the ability to see additional information in your email.
A sidebar looks like a website navigation menu or application. If you want to give subscribers the ability to access different web pages, use a sidebar.
Do you need to display different content for different subscribers? You can now add buttons to your email to allow subscribers to completely edit the content of a message.
For example, your subscribers may change the language of your email.
Add an e-mail registration form to your message. Your subscribers can sign up for a webinar, email list, or event directly from your message.
