Google spotted a test version of GoogleBot capable of generating more content

DeepCrawl discovered that Google was testing a new GoogleBot that would make the Web similar to a modern Chrome browser.

We knew Google was trying to improve. The ability of GoogleBot to display web pages with the help of JavaScript or advanced web applications. Google developer lawyer Martin Splitt has confirmed the test.

GoogleBot makes more. Here is a screenshot of DeepCrawl showing what this new experimental version of GoogleBot can render, which is above the version 69 of Chrome:

That's what the normal GoogleBot can render, similar to version 41 of Chrome:

Confirmed by Google. Google's Martin Splitt confirmed on Twitter that this was a Google test. Martin said, "We test things all the time and sometimes those experiences are visible."

Why we should care. If GoogleBot is able to make web pages a modern browser, SEOs, publishers and content producers will not have to worry so much when creating applications Modern Web. These web applications will not need workarounds such as dynamic rendering to get the crawled, indexed, and possibly ranked content in Google Search.
